ABOUT

Dr. Rumeet Billan is an award-winning, internationally recognized entrepreneur, learning architect and humanitarian. Her mission is to raise potential by designing experiences that build resilience. At the age of 25, and again three years later, Rumeet was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network. She has been profiled as a ‘Generation Entrepreneur’ by Forbes, and her work has been featured in The Globe and Mail, The Financial Post and Professionally Speaking.

Rumeet is the President of Viewpoint Leadership and Jobs in Education. She completed her PhD at the University of Toronto alongside a collaborative degree in the Dynamics of Global Change with the Munk School of Global Affairs. Rumeet has designed and facilitated programs, courses, and training sessions across industries and sectors. She has delivered TEDx talks as well as a convocation address for graduating students at the University of Toronto. Her talk on The Future of Education at TEDx in Halifax, Nova Scotia was highly lauded and later adapted into a workshop for Ontario students, titled Who do you want to be when you grow up?™.

Since 2004, Rumeet has contributed to social impact initiatives that improve access to and the quality of education in North America, South America and Africa. In addition to building schools, supporting scholarships, breakfast programs, and soccer tournaments, her vision led to the creation and development of a teacher’s college in rural Kenya. She continues to support causes and lead initiatives that promote human welfare.

INITIATIVES

Viewpoint Leadership provides learning, training and development solutions through the delivery of programs, courses and training sessions. The company is1 of 60 global training partners with Multi-Health Systems and provide certification training for use of the EQ-I 2.0 and EQ 360 assessment tools. 

Jobs in Education is an employment job board bringing together employers and candidates who are seeking a career within the education sector. The company works towards two bottom lines: profit + social impact. Clients include school boards, private schools, colleges and universities. 

Our Next Generation and their development is a key area of interest. Through the development of workshops, books and learning kits, the hope is to raise potential and inspire the next generation to be empowered and resilient. 

Impact is at the core of each business, initiative and project. To date, impact includes building 3 schools and a teachers college, delivering over 250 backpacks and supplies, supporting 120 scholarships and 5 soccer tournaments, funding 2 full year breakfast programs and 52 uniforms and textbooks for orphans in all parts of our world. This is just the beginning.

Rumeet designs learning experiences that build resilience. As a learning architect, she has created and developed programs, courses and training sessions for the private, 'for purpose' and public sectors, including prestigious universities in Canada and abroad. She has been sought after for speaking engagements which include a convocation address at the University of Toronto and two TEDx talks in Canada. She has had national and international coverage for the work that she is engaged in related to leadership, education and emotional resiliency.
